ABOUT PENCAK SILAT AND CHAMPIONSHIP
Pencak Silat is a form of a traditional martial art believed that has been originated from the Malay Archipelago and Indonesian’s heritage. It translates to “Fighting with a wide variety and techniques of self-defense”. Pencak Silat has four main components –The Mental Spirit, Arts and Culture,The Self-Defense and Sport’s itself.
During competitions, it is practiced entirelyfor fitness, aesthetics and with the martial art’s disciplines. The varieties that is shown and expressed during these competitions encapsulates it uniqueness.
While in the sports context, Pencak Silat is categorized into two categories – Match and Artistic.
In recent years, Pencak Silat and it’s culture has spread to many foreign countries outside South East Asia including Holland, Germany, Italy, South Africa, France, Japan and others. The sport’s has since influenced many and it is also capable of uniting people from all walks of life.
The primary objective of organizing 6th Asian Pencak Silat championship is mainly, to gather all the Pencak Silat practitioners from all around the Asian Countries and to compete competitively by representing their own country.
The 4th Asian Pencak Silat Championship was hosted by Indian Pencak Silat in 2018 at Sher E Kashmir Indoor Sports Council, Srinagar, Kashmir, Now this will be the Second time Indian Pencak Silat Federation will host 6th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2022 at Sher E Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex Srinagar, Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir also has flower gardens and apple orchards. It attracts tourists for its handicrafts and the Kashmiri shawls.
Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is a Union Territory (UT) of India, located in the country’s northern part and a global tourist destination. In addition to traditional recreational tourism, vast scope exists for adventure, pilgrimage, spiritual, and health tourism.
The natural beauty and picturesque locations have made it a favoured destination for tourists across the world. Jammu is famous for its temples, while Kashmir Valley is known for its lakes and gardens.
SRINAGAR (LOCATION OF ASIAN PENCAK SILAT CHAMPIONSHIP 2022)
Srinagar is one of several places that have been called the “Venice of the East“. Lakes around the city include Dal Lake – noted for its houseboats – and Nigeen Lake. Apart from Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake, Wular Lake and Manasbal Lake both lie to the north of Srinagar. Wular Lake is one of the largest fresh water lakes in Asia.
Srinagar has some Mughal gardens, forming a part of those laid by the Mughal emperors across the Indian subcontinent. Those of Srinagar and its close vicinity include Chashma Shahi (the royal fountains); Pari Mahal (the palace of the fairies); Nishat Bagh (the garden of spring); Shalimar Bagh; the Naseem Bagh. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in the city, set up in 1969. The Indian government has included these gardens under “Mughal Gardens of Jammu and Kashmir” in the tentative list for sites to be included in world Heritage sites.
The Sher Garhi Palace houses administrative buildings from the state government. Another palace of the Maharajas, the Gulab Bhavan, has now become the Lalit Grand Palace hotel.
The Shankaracharya Temple lies on a hill top in the middle of the city.
